Introduction

The B.A. (Language Studies) programme is a three-year programme aimed at creating professionals in the area of language use in editing and proofreading, language education, publishing, and in translation and interpretation.


Objectives of the Programme

At the end of the programme, graduates shall be able to: a.Acquire proficiency in language for general proficiency purposes at interpersonal level. b.Use English language to communicate knowledge receptively and productively in the formal and informal contexts. c.Edit and proofread various types of written texts. d.Work as professional interpreters and translators and work as sign language experts.

a.Entrepreneurial opportunities: Graduates of the programme can establish entrepreneurial prospects in various areas such as consultancy for language, cultural and heritage preservation, language consultancy, bilingual consultancy and linguistic criticism. b.Employment opportunities: Graduates of the programme can consider employment opportunities in mass media organisations and agencies, publishing houses, editorial and translation firms, language training centres and schools, and advertisement agencies.
