Introduction
The B.A. (Archaeology and History) programme is a three-year programme aims to produce competent graduates who are capable of conducting archaeological research, and interpreting historical and archaeological materials.
Objectives of the Programme
At the end of the programme, graduates shall be able to: a.Demonstrate knowledge on theoretical and practical experiences in archaeology as well as historical insights that concerns itself primarily with the study of human’s past before and after the advent of written records. b.Show sound knowledge and understanding of the scope and issues within the discipline of archaeology and history including basic principles of archaeological and historical reasoning and in-depth knowledge of selected specialist areas within these disciplines. c.Demonstrate key transferable skills, for example archaeological field survey, excavation, recording, site sampling, etiquette and practice, data handling and analytical skills, as well as skills to evaluate the sources, methods, motivations, and interpretations behind historical narratives. d.Show ability to analyse change over time, the nature of causal relationships, and comparative, cross-cultural and abstract concepts and broad knowledge of the global scope of both disciplines and specialist knowledge of the archaeology and history of selected regions. e.Demonstrate qualification and competence in archaeology and history for lifelong learning and career development, including independent research abilities, team work, written and oral expression.

a.Entrepreneurial opportunities: Graduates of the programme can establish entrepreneurial prospects in various areas as consultants for cultural and heritage preservation, archaeological site consultant, tourism experts, establish travel companies, establish cultural and heritage companies, and tour guide service companies. b.Employment opportunities: Graduates of the programme can consider employment opportunities in heritage institutions, museums, heritage management institutions and organizations, parks and conservation area, records and archives management institutions, and research institutions. They can be employed as historical-archaeologists, historical landscape archaeologists, palaeontologists, and archaeological heritage conservation personnel, historians and cultural officers. c.Leadership/Community-based opportunities: Graduates of the programme can also consider leadership roles or community-based roles where they can use their knowledge and skills in cultural and heritage development campaigns, or as social campaign experts and analysts for their communities.
